The CREATE A GOOD LIFE TEAM is a group of passionate individuals who provide daily support, motivation and encouragement to people to help them live more healthy and vibrant lives by helping them to reach their top health and fitness goals.  I  provide free coaching advice and support to people who are enrolled as a customer or coach with a free Team Beachbody account.  My goal as a leader is to help you set S.M.A.R.T (Specific; Measurable; Attainable; Relevant: Time-Based) goals with regards to your  health and fitness.  Together, we work as mentor and coach…. we map out a plan according to how fast or how slow you want to grow your business.  We break everything down into small pieces so the business is very easy to learn and not overwhelming.  Since I am a certified health coach and personal trainer, I can add value to your own fitness and nutrition journey by working together to overcome things like emotional addictions to foods, cravings,  meal planning, healthy snacks….I will be your biggest cheerleader!  Consider me a one-stop-shop for training and mentorship.

If you love to travel, this business is perfect for you!  We have trips that you can earn for FREE just by helping others and earning what we call “Success Club” points.  You can also earn FREE trips to leadership conferences and if you make it to the top 10 in the company, you qualify to go on the Top Ten Adventure trip.  Last year’s trip was to Italy and this summer, the best of the best are going to France!

How I got into fitness coaching?  I was first introduced to Beachbody through my friend and colleague, Robert Kemp.  I was a personal trainer and at the same time, my husband and I had just opened up our new coffee shop in Santa Barbara, CA and I was working 12-14 hour days at the shop plus managing 3 kids.  I started out simply by using the products, drinking Shakeology every day and working out to the programs at home.  Soon, more and more people were asking me how I managed to stay so fit with so little time and I simply shared my experience with the Beachbody products with them and soon I had a booming business.  What I love almost more than the products are the people I have met….many of whom are my closest friends.  I receive free training form top coaches and I have had such a transformation of personal growth since the start of my business.  Today, you can find me giving talks at major corporations, setting up wellness programs for companies, talking on radio shows, traveling to places like Belize, Mexico, Nevada and Nashville!   Never in my wildest dreams would I have thought I would be doing things like this 5 years ago.  You too can dream big and achieve anything you set your mind to.

Beachbody Workout/Nutrition Partnership

My partnership with the Team Beachbody as an Independent Team Beachbody coach, enables me to provide hundreds of options to my clients and customers with regards to professional home fitness workouts and nutrition plans. There are many benefits to working out at home:  you can’t afford a gym membership; you need to stay home with your children and don’t want to pay for childcare while you workout; you want to save time by rolling out of bed and working out in your underwear if you feel like it LOL; you need the accountability and support from a trainer but can’t afford to pay for a personal trainer: you like access to many different workouts because you get bored easily.  I am sure you have heard of P90X and Insanity….this is the company that created these world class programs and since coming out with these popular originals, Beachbody has created many new and improved 30-minute programs more suited for the busy lifestyles that we all lead.  Whether you enjoy dancing, kickboxing, body building, cardio, ab workouts… there is something for everyone.

I have always been an athlete but excelled in track and field, particularly the high jump and pole vault.  To be an elite jumper or vaulter,  you have to spend a lot of time in the gym strengthening your muscles and core in order to jump as high as possible.  Naturally, I took to the Beachbody program called Body Beast which is a program to help you sculpt and lean out your body for either body building competitions or just because you have always wanted a rock hard body.  Of course I am very competitive so when Beachbody hosted the first-ever Body Beast Physique contest, I was first in line to sign up.  Body Beast not only helped me make the top ten in Las Vegas at the MGM Grand Hotel, but it was also the year that I broke the American Record in the masters high jump and it remains my favorite home workout program!

In addition to the workout programs and nutrition guides, Beachbody has the best meal replacement/wellness drink on the market. Shakeology has over 70 ingredients from all over the world and helps you to get many of the nutrients your body needs to stay healthy, lose weight or just feel great.

I have been drinking Shakeology every day for nearly the last 3 years and I have only been sick once….for this fact alone, I think Shakeology is worth every penny.  I am a busy mom with 3 kids and multiple businesses and I push myself hard….Shakeology was just what I needed in my life and it has helped not only myself stay free from illnesses, but my entire family too.  My customers have shed pounds and inches by adding Shakeology to their daily routine.

Sue McDonald’s Biography

Sue McDonald - Family Photo

I was born in Van Nuys, California in the San Fernando Valley – yes, I am an original “Valley Girl”  I was involved in sports at a very young age.  I always had to be the best at everything and was extremely competitive.  I participated in track and field, basketball, softball, and volleyball.  It wasn’t until my sophomore year in college after watching 10 days straight of the track and field competition at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles that I caught the fever – I wanted to compete at the next level – the goal to wear a USA uniform someday.

I started my collegiate track & field career at Los Angeles Valley Junior College where I finished in the top three in the state  both years in the high jump and 6th in the 400 Intermediate hurdles my last year.  I was also on the basketball team and would finish basketball practice and jog over to the track to begin my second or sometimes third workout of the day.  My collegiate career continued at California State University, Northridge where I placed 2nd two years straight in the high jump at the  NCAA Div. II National Championships and achieved All American status.

My post-collegiate career saw multiple trips to the USA National Championships in the high jump where I finished in the top 15.  After retiring from the high jump to have a baby girl, I picked up the pole vault and became one of the top pioneer female pole vaulters in the United States.  In 1996, I was ranked 7th in the US and qualified as a finalist in the first-ever women’s pole vault in the 1996 Olympic Trials in Atlanta, GA.  A disappointing 11th place finish made me re-evaluate things.  I decided to keep vaulting for the fun of it and jumped an American record (age 35-39), since broken by Olympian Stacy Dragila.  I continued to compete and vaulted in street vault and beach vault competitions.  The Santa Barbara Beach Vault competition brought me to Santa Barbara and I fell in love with the place and the people.  I moved to “Paradise” in 1999 and made one more attempt at trying to qualify for the 2000 Olympic Trials in the high jump at age 37.  After narrowly missing the qualifying height for the Trials, I decided to try other sports.  I started doing triathlons, road races, and cycling competitions.

I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from California State University, Northridge.  I later worked for Walt Disney Imagineering in their Finance Division for over 11 years.  In Santa Barbara, I held various positions such as a personal trainer at an athletic club, part-time coach for a local triathlon training group, a Realtor for Village Properties and in 2009, my husband and I opened our own coffee shop business called Zizzo’s Coffee.

Married 10 years to the love of my life, Michael McDonald (7-time Ironman triathlete). Three beautiful children (Chiara 18, Nicolas 9, Cruz 6). Chiara is a freshman in college in Los Angeles where she earned an athletic scholarship for basketball. Nicolas is a fast and furious soccer and basketball player and recently is playing around with water polo. Cruz is studying karate, will play basketball and is a fish who loves the water!
